Agoura Varsity Chargers Loses Lead Early in Defeat

Agoura Varsity Chargers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-1 loss to Westlake on Thursday. Westlake took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

The Agoura Varsity Chargers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Westlake, giving up ten runs.

Westlake got on the board in the first inning when Na. Johnson’s sac fly scored one run for Westlake.

Westlake scored five runs in the third inning. Westlake’s big inning was driven by a single by P Lizzul and a home run by No. Johnson.

J Doyle was the winning pitcher for Westlake. The bulldog surrendered one run on two hits over six innings, striking out six. J Beer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Braylen Dritz took the loss for Agoura Varsity Chargers. The pitcher went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out two.

Westlake socked three home runs on the day. N Franco put one out in the sixth inning. K Youmans went deep in the fifth inning. Johnson had a long ball in the third inning.

Westlake totaled ten hits in the game. Johnson and D Marrisett each racked up multiple hits for Westlake. Johnson led Westlake with three hits in four at bats.
